Teen Abortions and Parental Notification

For a dilemmatic case in the US, please read here

What made it all the more difficult is that the girl is under the custody of the Department of children and Families (DCF), that is supposed to do what is in the best interest of the child.

The teen, who is 13 years old, however, claims that the DCF's decision is clearly against her best interest. At her age, risks of complication are much higher in the case of a pregancy (1 out of 10.000) than in the case of an abortion (1 out of 37.000).
